Awards For Trainee And Practising RE/HE Teachers

Individual UK Applicants

  • Are you a UK citizen?
  • Will your proposed course of study qualify you to become a teacher in the UK?
  • Or will your application improve your professional development as a teacher?

The key criterion for individual awards is to support trainee and practising Religious Education and Home Economics (including Food and Textiles) subject teachers, to encourage more people to become teachers, and/or for practising teachers to become better teachers and stay in the profession.

  • Trainee teacher applicants must be proposing to study Religious Education or Home Economics (including food and textiles) education or equivalent.
  • Trainee teacher applications must lead to qualified teacher status, certification of or equivalent from a United Kingdom higher education institution or similar accrediting authority.
  • Practising teacher applications must focus on continuing professional development or postgraduate action research that improves teaching and is supervised by a United Kingdom higher education institution or similar accrediting authority.
  • Trainee and practising teachers must need the Trust’s help: awards are not made where study could be funded from personal means or available public funding.
